We are currently recruiting for kindergarten assistants at Beechtree Steiner Initiative in Chapeltown, a thriving Steiner Waldorf Independent School in Chapeltown Leeds for children aged 3 -9 years old offering an alternative education.
We are looking to build up our pool of assistants to work in the kindergarten with mixed groups of children aged 3-6. The main aim of the role is to support the kindergarten teacher. The role also includes domestic jobs such as cooking and cleaning.
Training and support provided.
Requirements for the post include:
Desire to and/or experience of working with children
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
An interest in Steiner Waldorf education
Commitment to develop one’s practice
English and Maths GCSE (Grade C or equivalent)
To be eligible for registration under the Children’s Act 1989
Salary £8.72 per hour

We do accept applications for student placements and volunteers at Beechtree, usually to work in the kindergarten and classrooms alongside staff. This requires a enhanced DBS that can be arranged via Beechtree. However, we cannot always guarantee that we have availability.
